| The return of the Stingray, this time it's all one word! 1969 was a big year for Corvette. A labor strike interrupted production and when all was settled Chevrolet Chief John Z. DeLorean kept production running an extra four months. Car Life Magazine in 1969 said it best, "Corvettes are for driving, by drivers. Winning races, going to the store or driving cross country, the Corvette driver will be tired of smiling long before he's tired of the car." This stunning 1969 427/400 horsepower convertible will certainly keep you smiling for a long, long time. This beautiful Corvette is fresh from the restoration shop where it underwent a full body-off professional nut and bolt restoration. The results are nothing short of perfection. Rick's Corvette Cafe is extremely excited to offer this real red/red convertible. We have the original and very legible tank sticker and the restoration was followed to the letter as it was originally built. The only exception being red line tires (originally a white stripped tire car). The L68 427/400 horsepower motor is the same engine it was born with as is the rest of the driveline. Making it a little easier to handle all that raw power the car is also optioned with code N40 power steering and code J50 power brakes. Code TJ2 side fender louver trim and code CO7 auxiliary hard top round out the list of options. The no-hit body finished in it's original hue of Code 974 Monza Red is flawless. The Code 407 red vinyl interior is all brand new and perfect. The engine bay and chassis were restored to factory specifications and a look under the hood is like looking at jewelry. This is a very rare and desirable color combination. Car and Driver Road Testers had this to say, "the small engine Corvettes are marginally fast and extraordinarily civilized, the large engine Corvettes are extraordinarily fast and marginally civilized." |
